This 3^rd edition of Work4Me was developed for the first semester accounting and business student. Used successfully at Sierra College over the past 8 years, it has proven to be an excellent program for familiarizing accounting students with accounting procedures, starting with basic debit and credit journal entries and progressing through the more complex journal entries associated with adjusting, closing, sales, purchases, perpetual inventory, and bad debts.

Work4Me is a series of exercises designed to test the journalizing and analyzing skills of accounting students.  In all of the Work4Me problems, the computer is used to do the routine clerical functions. The questions at the end of each problem require students to use their printed documents for analysis and decision making.  Each problem has a set of check figures to assist the student in quickly verifying their work or correcting errors.

The first demonstration problem introduces the software and basic entries illustrating the concept of double-entry bookkeeping.  Other problems show journal and data entries required to maintain subsidiary ledgers and inventory systems.  The exercises provide a hands-on review of daily entries, maintaining subsidiary ledgers for customers and vendors, adjusting entries, closing entries, simple analysis of financial statements and more topics listed below. Since each problem can be completed in a matter of minutes, the students have the opportunity to analyze their work and verify its accuracy. Students may grade their questions and electronically submit the results and pre-selected documents to the Instructor/Professor.
